Wireless Internet Won't Work Need Help.

Hello,
Ok I have a Compaq Presario V6000 I'm on my home computer right now. My laptop has been working till a few days ago.Then it just stopped after a update on the laptop. I have system restored it hundreds of times and it still won't work. I have done the ipconfig to see if there was any connection and it still has not found a connection. The wireless on and off switch is on but it's not blue is orange. I need help.
Edit: I have tried connecting the internet wire to the laptop and it starts working then when i unplug it, It won't work wireless.

to begin i would not sugest system restore that many times. and after system restore r u scaning for updates? what server r u using? send a lil more info and mayb i can help you

What sometimes happens is that drivers are built against a particular kernel, then when that kernel is updated, the driver has to be rebuilt. You haven't given us quite enough information to give more help.

What kind of wireless card? (usually, just running the command /sbin/lspci will tell you--it's usually in the last 3 or 4 lines.)

do u know how to get to device manager? you need to check ur driver. let me know if u need step by step, i dont mind helping some1 help me so ill do my best
