Having a bit of a dilemma, i cannot connect my laptop to the Internet and would be grateful for any help. Every other pc in the house is connecting to the Internet. My wifi button is on, and I have a an excellent signal, but local only. When I open the network and sharing centre it says kirstyslaptop is connected to an unidentified network, which cannot connect to the Internet. Plug a cable into the network adaptor " Local area connection"
Automatically get new IP setting for the network adaptor " Wireless Network Connection"
A problem with your network router or broadband modem might be preventing Internet connection.
I have typed CMD in the start menu and typing IPCONFIG and the IPv4 address is 169.254.xxx.xxx ( I don't know if this helps but I read it on another help forum) and
then it told me to uninstall network adaptors but this made no difference.
