I have a problem with my laptop, and like most problems I encounter with Windows I can't rest until they are fixed!
Anyways, I have a Dell studio laptop and up until recently my wireless internet was working fine. I started noticing this past week that I could not access the internet after booting up or after awakening from sleep mode (I also noticed that there is no little globe that appears on the internet icon in the icon bar when I fire this baby up). When I hover my mouse over the icon it says my network name BUT there is an "Unidentified... " in front of it which is not normal I believe. The thing is, I can solve this problem by unplugging the router's power and plugging it back in but that gets very annoying and doesn't really solve my problems, and my roomies might be doing work online or something. I can connect to the internet using an Ethernet cord but wireless is much more convenient...
My roommates laptops work fine with the router so I don't think the router is going bad. My laptop also works with the wireless on campus so I don't think my wireless card is going bad either.
So, if anyone has any ideas I'd be glad to try them because this is annoying!
PS - I think my apartment complex got a new cable internet service provider also because it is a lot faster and our channels changed on the TV and they sent out a flier saying they were changing sometime soon (I don't know if this messes anything up but it might).
Thanks for your help, in advance
