Vista:Not asking for passphrase or key

I am trying to connect to a wireless router through my laptop and the connection is Security Enabled. I know the passphrase but when it tries to connect, it will not ask me to enter the passphrase. it does not show the dialog to enter the key. pressing connect button simply finish the dialog and process.

It is not only with my router and wlan..but all the network in vicinity which can be found...the problem is same with everyone..

sometime it shows the link on dialog..where it says..enter the passphrase or key..but when i click it..nothing happen and the dialog simple closes without showing me any place to enter the key.

please i am stuck..help me..

and yes..i can connect to same routers through manual settings..
