i have the same problem and the same dialog box that prompts me to
enter network password in win98se:
"You must supply a password to make this connection."
"Resource \\Vista computer\IPC$ "
"Password _________________ "

How to enable NTLM 2 authentication
-LMCompatibility=3
-Active Directory Client Extension-installed
-i use no password in my network.
-vista can see 98 and i can access folders
-98 can see vista but i can not get into it. i get the network password box as above...
