internet local only problem

Hi im currently having a problem with a new modem-
my previous modem was contiously disconnecting from the internet and i have bought a new one(belkin N300 modem and router)

i have 2 computers, both are vistas and laptops, one of them is working, both wirelessly and connected.
However, my other one cannot connect to the internet but can connect to the router and the connection is local only.
when i run windows network diagnostics, it says "cannot communicate with primary DNS server
what can i do?

Ah, a familar sounding problem, but this time it does go wireless; Is there a pattern devolping here with Vista; I say yes but have been unable to resolve or get anybody at MS to acknowledge. Am waiting like you for somebody to come up with a fix but on the wired side,

Do you have your computer go to sleep when not in use?

    2- Incessa IN-811 removable drive bays and 8- removable drive bay caddies.
Local only is usually a problem with the encryption/key. Double check that your laptop has exactly the same settings as the router.

Will post tomarrow hopefully with good news, but I disabled the security program that comes with vista; you cannot uninstall it, just disable it; reactivated the sleep function and both times that I've awakened it, it has responded like it is supposed to.
had been blaming the 3rd party antivirus/malware programs and subsequently uninstalling them, like I figured it appears to be a Microsoft problem. Go figure!

Tomarrow AM will be the real test.
