I'd just logged on tonight after work, through a dial up connection, and was able to connect through windows live on the first try, only to crash shortly after and lock up. This has happened before so I just opened the task manager to end the process and try to restart it. Well, that didn't work. Task Manager wouldn't respond, and now each time I try to log onto MSN it comes up with, "Your machine has an invalid IP Address," or something to that issue. I've tried to IE work offline, and the repair feature in Troubleshooting, nothing works. I've scanned my system with AvG and Spybot, still no luck. Any ideas?

go to command prompt type in: ipconfig /release
and/or
ipconfig /renew
see if those commands work.
