3rd Party Program connection issues

Hello. I have been having problems with any 3rd party program connecting to the internet. It ranges from the programs I use from td ameritrade, to ad-aware trying to do updates, to utorrent... I have already made sure that all the programs are allowed in the windows firewall. I have also accessed the router/modem combo that my ISP had given me recently and tured off the firewall setting in the router.

I thought it could have been a port issue so after accessing the router I found there were no advanced options to do port forwarding. I then called my ISP tech support and they assured me they only close 6 ports that and the rest are open for communication and advised me that it was a local (windows) problem. I have even shut down the firewall completely and still have no luck. Any input/suggestions would be much appriciated.

Yes, I was able to use anything through port 80. IE worked fine. I have resolved the issue.. just backed everything up and did a system restore from the original image.. everything works fine now... I was sick of messing around with it and figured that was the easiest solution. Thanks for the reply though.

Thats because port 80 is TCP...
