I am having trouble connecting to my home wireless connection.and on my dad's laptop i can get the connection not on my computer though, any ways to fix this problem?
It depends all on router setting. You can open web page or use a installed program. You can also get to router through the network control panel.
Ultimately you can get the IP address of the router and type this into the address bar of the browser. Then configure the router (wireless devices). The settings are usually quite easy to add other devices or search.
Then you should be able to explore the settings on router and allow other wireless devices access.
Have a look on the laptop that connects. Go to start and run the command prompt (run "cmd"). Type in "ipconfig /all" and see what router or gateway address it is using for the wireless adapter.
I have a question really quick, based on the answer it will determine which direction I go. Are you using a wired router on the same network as your wireless network?
So does your setup look like this:
a.) modem -> wired router -> wireless router -> computers on wired and wireless?
