Cannot Save WEP Network Security Key

My WEP Network Security Key is not being saved in the Wireless Network Properties Screen Security tab. A couple of nights ago I used a motel wireless connection and I had to change some settings to make that work. Now I have changed everything back to my home router settings, the home connection is now fine, but I have to enter the home router Key every time I boot up even though I click on OK on the Wireless Network Properties screen Security tab. Is a configuration file holding previous, incorrect information that loads the wrong key on bootup? Am I missing a Save Info button? There was no problem like this until I connected with the motel wireless.

Do you have a Restore Point you could fall back to before you connected to the motel wireless??

When you connect make sure its set to remember the password. Also, another way is to remove the current saved profiles for that router and enter the WEP key once more. That could work.

Go with RC. A friend had conncection problems and a simple system restore resolved everything. You may want to try this before making any changes, manually. It has been my experience that if a small problem can excalate into a large one it will

Good luck

Good morning!!

My co worker brings her laptop running vista into the office and every morning she has to re-enter the network security password in order to connect to the network. The options to save the password is on and the profile is recognized before and after. yet, once she goes home her home network is picked up automatically.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
