I have a home office network with three machines; one running XP, one Ubuntu, the last VistaX64. Server is running Win2kServer. Everything was fine (actually running very well), until I changed the server. Same software, same settings, P4 with IG Ram and larger drives. Both the XP and Linux boxes logged on immediately, Vista refuses. I receive 'Logon unsuccessful: Windows is unable to log you on. Be sure that your username and password are correct.'
I can print thru the Vista box, it recognizes all machines on the network, and I can see all the drives from the other machines. I have tried a number of user name combinations, changing passwords, etc.; no use. Any help appreciated.
Thanks for your continued cooperation,
John Serena
I see some interest in his thread, but no responses. I don't blame you.
I finally did a clean re-install of Vista, same problem. Next step might be to re-install Server software, but I'm starting to think that there is some config or log file that needs modification. It can't be a password issue, despite Vista's warning dialogs. Again, any help appreciated.
