I am having nightmares with my Linksys WRT54G and Vista (router was purchased back in 2000 or so, pretty old and can't upgrade anymore), I am looking into getting a new wireless router but I need some help as networking is so far out for me.
My SSID has a name and I am using WPA encryption.I have Comcast 16Mbit Broadband and Vista x64 dual booting with Windows 7 on 1 WIRED PC, I also have 2 more WIRELESS PCs running XP Pro w/SP3. My computer specs are listed.
I have an issue with one of the wireless PCs (XP w/SP3) disconnecting and connecting all the time and I figured that all it needs is to be updated from its firmware... I am hoping I am right, otherwise, I will be looking for a new wireless hub soon as well.
The PC with Vista is another story, sometimes it works fine but, and this is mostly on the other user with admin rights (my wife), after it goes to sleep and it is awaken, she looses internet connectivity and needs to restart. sometimes, 10 minutes into a session, internet is lost and there is a need to restart. Suffice to say... my SEX life is now suffering because of this issue

I have tried using Comcast DNS and I have also tried using the Open DNSs to no avail so I figured that the main issue here is the router being that it is pretty old.
I am thinking that 100 bucks should fetch me a pretty decent router, less would be better but I am also willing to spend a little more if it will fix my issues and will last me what this one did... the latter is not a deal breaker though.
I should also comment on the fact that this is a pretty new built and recent installation of windows Vista & 7.
I am really hookedon the Linksys brand but, it perhaps because all I have had is this Linksys router so... I am not married to anything here and I will gladly use what you guys recommend.
Thanks
