I moved a working XP drive from my old computer and hooked it as second HDD on a new computer with Vista on the first Drive.
The computer recognized the XP drive on booting and gives me an option to boot from either the vista or the new XP drive.
The XP drive, boots fine and all seems to work except for the internet connection. On booting, the computer detected "new hardware" but failed to install some PCI comm controller, SM Bus Controller,PCI Bridge device, and audio drive, drivers but could not search the interner for them since I had no internet connection.
Had no success talking to HP and comcast everyone saying to call the other.
In the process I was asked to run ipconfig from the command prompt, and this did not return any ip addresses at all with the XP.
Note that I am able to have an internet connection connection on the first, Vista drive when I boot from it, and ipconfig returns a bunch of IP addresses.
Would appreciate any thoughts on activating my internet connection on the XP drive.
Thanks
