Hi there,
I've been all over the internet trying to find out if anyone has heard of this, but haven't come up with anything.
I recently upgraded to Vista Ultimate x64 because I wanted to make use of the maximum amount of RAM my computer was capable of handling (8 gigs, or 4 x 2gb).
I went through the whole "you can't install Vista Ultimate x64) with more than 3 gigs of RAM during installation" problem and eventually got everything up and running (downlaoded the update/hotfix for that), with one exception.
When I have 1 x 2gig stick of RAM in my computer, I'm able to connect wirelessly to my home network.
If I place all 4 sticks in my comp, however, I recieve limited or no connectivity. This results in either ridiculously slow transfer rates (most websites timeout, some don't load properly) or no connection at all.
I've rotated the various sticks of RAM and have the same result with any of them in any sequence.
Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?
I'm currently at work and unable to post specific system info, but I'm mostly wondering if anyone has heard of this at all?
I've done all the usual driver updates and whatnot. I just find it bizarre that the issue only occurs when I have all my RAM in.
Thanks for any insight you can provide.
