How do I unlock a listening port?

I'd like to be able to download torrent files quickly, but Bit Comet tells
me that my listening port is blocked. Any help in an easy way to unblock it
would be really appreciated.

Do you have a router? If not add the port that your using into the firewall for tcp and udp.

If you have a broadband cable modem, it may have a firewall of it's own. You can usually access it by typing the IP address into the address bar of your browser. ie; 198.166.0.1
