Backup complete pc image over the network

Hi there I have two pc's one in my living room with a 500gig external hard disk attached and another pc in my bedroom.

I would like to backup my pc in the bedroom to this 500gig external hard disk but when I go to backup and restore and select backup computer it then asks me where do I want to save the image.

I dont have the option to select the 500gig external hard disk attached to the other pc in the livingroom.

Both pc's are on the network.

How can I backup the bedroom pc over the network to the external disk?

Hi, ibit-matt, and welcome to the forums.

First of all, can thebedroom PC see the living Room PC, ***and*** the external driver? If so, map it to a local drive - Windows Explorer --> Tools --> Map Network Drive

Thanks for the reply. Yes both pc's can see each other and see the external drive.

The external drive is connect locally to the living room pc and the bedroom pc can see the external via the network mapped as a network drive.
