Best pci nic for Vista 64?

Recently i had a power outage at my place that apparently fried both ethernet ports on my mobo. I bought a Netgear gigabit pci adapter from circuit city(my first mistake) that "works with vista" but apparently isn't "certified"...'cause i've had nothing but problems with this thing. Most of the problems i've solved as much as i can( i can get on the internet now but Vista s3 sleep is sporadic and now i can't connect to my xbox to share media.

So i've decided to dropkick this #@$%& across the room and buy a good nic that is certified to work with Vista. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi cwatson71,

Vista has support for dedicated network processing for offloading all the work onto the LAN card instead of the processor...Any NIC that supports offloading gives you a really good performance boost....

This card is one of the most popular Ethernet-NPU cards but I bet you can find others if its too pricy...Killer Gaming Network Card reduces game lag and latency

What do you think?
