"Add Printer" crashes explorer every time

like the title says, every time I try to add a networked printer it crashes explorer in Vista 64.

This on a fairly new HP 8510W lappy (built for Vista.) OS is fresh install (drive puked.) Fully updated.

check all the services related to networking. make sure they don't have any problem starting.
