lanning vista with xp

help, i don.t know how exactly to setup a network.
i got network cables connected on both pc,
group name is the same, host name is different, subnet mask all have 255.255.255.0, host address one is 192.168.0.1 and the other is 192.168.0.2

do i need special patch in order to connect vista to xp or is the above setting appropraite?

help guys plzzzz, i need the info urently!!!
