NVIDIA GeForce 8200/OpenGL 3.3

Is it possible to update graphics cards through driver software to support next minor revisions of software?

My GeForce 8200 supports OpenGL 3.2 (in desmume ds emulator) but does not support 3.3 (as required by dolphin gc and wii emulator).

OpenGL is apparantly a lot faster on AMD than DirectX 11 so that's why I want to use it with dolphin here, even though AMD processors aren't good for emulation compared to Intel, I'm too stubborn to upgrade this machine

So, with the GeForce 8200 (8-series) is possible to upgrade the driver to support v3.3 OpenGL? I don't want massive slowdown, especially as soon I am to do netplay on dolphin ~ does anyone else do emulation-related gaming on Vista here or not? I'd be happy to play some retro stuff

and don't troll about me using an emulator, I don't use dolphin for commercial games (yet) because I want to test out with opengl, only v3.0 has old opengl support and 3.5+ neeeds 3.3 opengl

I might be wrong but I don't think that has anything to do with drivers but what standard the card was designed for. That would equate to taking a directx 9 card and trying to make it work on 10 or 11.

Probably, you're right, however I DID find on the NVIDIA homepage drivers mentioning something about 3.3 support, but I don't think Vista 64-bit was there, unfortunately.

I was using directx as an example but you are restricted to what the manufacturer make available unless you can write your own drivers.
