Error in NVCPL.DLL. What?? Help!

Good evening guys & Gals,
AS a novice, when this popped on screen I was lost, recovered a little to try and find the problem.
What is it? Error Loading in NVCPL.DLL Missing Entry NVCPL. Restart Persistence.

I mean, give a guy a break.
I was checking lots of drivers to see if they were up to date, as I want to see what the old (4years) Machine with 32bit Home Basic, in a Compaq Presario, could do.

As I want to assess capabilities as I am considering upgrading.

Everything was going swimmingly until downloading from hp site, the advised driver patch. I'm not saying it's their fault, probably mine and my inexperience.

REalised to a degree that it is related to graphic card drivers.
Uninstalled download, cleaned off with CC cleaner and re-started.

Same thing happened when downloading, but this time 6/7 multiple windows opened, could not stop it.
Turned machine off to clear mayhem. Started and uninstalled, cleaned as before.
Not done anything since. What's the problem & can you help?

See if you can go to the Nvidia site and download the driver.

If you cant go to website. Go to search type device manager and get updated driver from there.
Its your graphics driver.

If that presents problems use system restore to go back before you began to make changes.

Take your good point.
I am, as we speak trying to download compatible drivers for my system.
It keeps 'timing out', I guess the highway is busy right now I will try again later to finish off.

I have read many threads, and taken note of peoples advice 'Go to the manufacturers site (component & not always computer) for downloads.

Not thinking went to hp first, not Nvidia. Learning, learning.
But, what causes the problem?
A deterioration of the driver?

Dont be overly concerened as to where you put the post. Just use your best judgement. If you make an error the moderators will move it. Happens all the time.

The best way to get a driver is to go to the website. If that does not work, update from device manager

If that does not work, let me know. I will give you special software that will remove all the driver remnants. It is specialized just for drivers.

Glad that I suggested it, was an afterthought. Had to edit my post.
