I've seen some similar threads to this already but none this new and none seemed solved...
I just bought an nvidia 480GTX and an LG W2753VC Monitor.
I'm running Vista x64.
I installed the monitor and included drivers and did likewise for the GPU, I was running a stretched desktop across my new and old Monitors (an old Hanspree XM 19"). Everything was fine up there in 1080p 1920x1080 resolution until I rebooted my computer a few hours later... Then my resolution reduced to 800x600 and my only option of increase is to 1024x768 which is appalling.
So I did a system restore and reinstalled all the drivers; nothing. I then manually deleted all the drivers and then reinstalled them; nothing. I then tried to repair my windows install via the CD; nothing. I've tried single monitors with both of them, my old monitor still churns out 1440x900 perfectly but I still can't get above 1024x768 with my new one. Because my old monitor isn't affected my instincts tell me that my problem is software related not hardware related. I know the monitor checks out because I had it manually tested before purchase, so it's got to be either the GPU or software right? But the GPU drives my old monitor like schumacker... So is it windows? If so how do I fix it, if not what is it?
Thanks in advance for all your replies and apologies for the long windedness of the post...
