How to add a program to the "Open With" function when used in My Pictures?

Suddenly Canon ZoomBrowser EX has disappeared from my "Open With" facility on the drop down menu when you right click a photo.
This happened once before and I replaced it but I can't find out how to replace it this time.
Can someone help please?

I really do appreciate your trying to help me but after trying to make sense of just a part of it I was completely lost and fearful of making things much worse than they already are. I have no idea at all which method to use.
The problem is this - when I go to open a picture/image/photo by right clicking on the image there is a longish menu list that appears. Now I never had anything whatsoever to do with how that list got made up. Nothing at all, yet all those programs including Canon ZoomBrowser EX was on that list. And now it has suddenly disappeared. How did they ALL get on that list in the first place? Presumably by some sort of automatic method but not by me. I wouldn't know how.
At the moment I can still use ZoomBrowser but not by opening the picture first - I have to open ZoomBrowser first and then go searching for the picture(s) in question.

Go to a picture, Right click, scroll to open with, click choose default program, go to c: program files, Canon ZoomBrowser EX, find the file ending with .exe
Click that and tick the box that says always use this (or words to that effect)

If no files have the exe showing let me know and I will tell you how to always show extensions
