Hello everyone. I'm Ed, and after playing around with win 7,10,and linux, I'm back on windows Vista.
It's faster on my aging HW,and I'm free of the nagging about win 10. And it just works.
My question is about Superfetch. I like the idea of caching in memory, using that Ram for something. What I dont like is ,and this is the only flaw I found to Vista, the HDD trashing.
It's trashing my HDD for 2 days now. It will eventually stop or not ?
Would I see a big performance hit over time,if I keep it OFF ?
I experimented with Superfetch off,and the trashing stop imediatelly ,but the apps and the bootup take somewhat longer.
Thanks, and its great to be here
