Hi i am trying and have looked on google for some days but i cant figure out how i can get this to work or maybe its not even possible to do.
I am trying to create shortcuts of movies in movie foldername and add the shortcut next to the file not to desktop or to one folder but in the movie folders is this possible?
??? Why ??? If the movie is already in the folder, why do you need a separate shortcut that points to that movie file?
You can do this though.
The easiest way is to right click on the movie file itself then drag it a bit and release the mouse button.
Select Create shortcut here.
The shortcut is created and will have the same name as the file with - Shortcut added to the end.
Right click on it and select rename the4n you can name it anything you want.
You can also right click in the movie folder and select New / Shortcut then fill in the fields.
thanks for the comment, i know this allready but i want to create shortcuts of movies files in the folders to get the shortcut next to the file. and then not 1 shortcut at a time but right click shortcut to move to several folders of the movies not to move to desktop or 1 shortcut at a time. is this possible?
You can't have files in the same folder with the same name and shortcuts are looked upon as files by Windows. The shortcut will have to be named something different. Otherwise your statement doesn't make any sense and you don't need a shortcut to a file in the same location as the file.
no problems with that. my shortcuts have exactly the same name as the moviefile .mp4.
i want select all moviefiles.mp4 and right click make shortcut for all in there own folders not that all shortcuts goes to one folder.
hope u understand now, i know my english isnt good.
Select all the .mp4 files you want to create shortcuts for.
Right click and select Create shortcut.
You will get a shortcut for each selected file. It will have the same name as the .mp4 file with - Shortcut appended to it.
You're English is fine, better than my non-English !!!
yeah but i have the movies in there folders like first folder is Movies then i open that folder and there i have all my movies like foldername Men Of Steel and then there the moviefile Men Of Steel and so on.
and if i then selecht multiple movies and create shortcut these goes to my desktop.
So you don't have all the mp4 files in the same folder. They are in sub folders of the same name as the mp4 file.
I don't know of any easy way to do what you want.
If you want the shortcut to point to the folder then do the same thing I showed above. I just tried it and it create the shortcut in the same folder the movie folders are in. In your case this would be Movies.
I don't understand why you want to do this. What does it gain you?
