Solved i want to uninstall and second version of vista off my emachine

i have windows vista on my emachine. i installed it and now have 2. i want to know how to go back to the old one and remove the new one. can you help me?

first i have 2 vistas on my machine.
i look at disk management and i don't see what they are showing - see attached
when you look at my disk you see a windows and and window.old - see attached
so i don't think this is going to help as i can't see what they are talking about
any other suggestions

Hi,

I think you only have one system installed on "C" & a recovery boot disk "D".

"D" is a recovery partition containing the "AS NEW" system from purchase for disaster recovery.

Therefore do not delete anything!

What you appear to have done is install Vista on top of Vista, hence the Windows.old files.

To revert back to the original system you will need to uninstall Windows from within the control panel "Programs and files".

Please ensure you have a back-up of your current system before starting any of the above.

if you are in any doubt leave it "As is" because the is nothing wrong with windows!

i can't uninstall from the control panel as it doesn't show anything as to the new vista being there. just the programs i put in so i could be on the net and keep in contact. but i have lost half of my tiny hard drive space due to not uninstalling all the programs before i installed the second vista. i really would like to have the space i'm missing back. that's why i want to go back and uninstall all those programs. so you're telling me there's nothing i can do. that's really a pain


can i just delete those programs so i can have my space back?
