In another recent post I asked about sleep mode not waking from a key stroke but only the power button. (I thought it was related to an Avast! update even though I performed two system restores.) I shut down last night and I couldn't start my PC today. After turning my surge outlet off and on the power button responded and my PC started. Is it possible hitting the power button to waken sleep caused this power problem? Any other ideas? I fear my PC is in trouble.
I have read if you have your laptop set to sleep when you close the lid and put it to sleep manually before closing the lid some people have reported it would not wake again

Thanks. I found something here that said hibernation mode requires the power button to wake so maybe my PC was going into hibernation rather than sleep, although that doesn't explain it not turning on.
