Temporary Burn Folder

Is it safe to delete all the files and folders in the Temporary Burn Folder? The main reason I am concerned is that there are files in there like Registry Backups, etc.

I have over 4,000 files and over 245 folders in that folder with just about 4 GBs of space being used.

What is the folder used for other than burning CD/DVD,s ?
Seems like most everything I do or have done goes into that folder.

Rather than answer with a definitive yes or no, I will give you a general answer which will help you now and in the future. Download the free Macrium Reflect. Make a back up of your entire hard drive and put it on and external.
You can now experiment, if you delete the temp folder, and have problems, you can use the back up to restore to where you were.
Unless YOU, not others know what the folder is for, download Ccleaner, it will remove temp folders and other crap that is on your hard drive. It is safe and efficient. Do not use the registry cleaner feature. Vista does not need it and it can cause problems by using that feature.
I am sure others may come by and tell you that they are safe to delete, although I trust all of the senior members of this forum, I stand by my advice. If YOU do not know the purpose of these folders do not delete them. I know of many members that that had to reinstall by making changes that were not necessary or needed

Rich, with Vista I have done several backups and come to find out there have been very few that I could restore from. When doing a backup it will ask which drives I want to backup. Even though I mark both of my computer drives it doesn't end up that way and then I am out in the cold Again.
I will head your advise and then to play it safe I think I will find just one file in just one folder then mark it down and delete it. Then run a search for it, if it is in a different folder and see if it will open. That way I will know for sure if the files/folders are really needed in the Temp Burn Folder:D

You are very welcome, but I think that Macrium Reflect is different it back up the entire drive. It actually saved me when I could not boot from Virus. Play it safe any way that makes you comfortable, but try Macrium, one day you will be glad that you have a current back up.

On my Windows 8 system, I show 5 Temporary Burn Folders under C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Burn.

If I select each in turn and click in the breadcrumbs (address) area, I see the real names, which are

Burn, Burn1, Burn2, Burn3 and Burn4

Vista is the same.

I'm sure they can be deleted without any problem. If you want to be careful, move the folder to another drive or location and test for a bit before deletion.
