Keyboard Locking or Hanging

In last day or so my keyboard seems to lock after system(Vista Home Premium) goes into sleep mode. Maybe that's not the cause. Only way to get my keyboard working again is a 'restart'. Any ideas how to fix or activate keyboard without restarting system??

There was a post for another flavor of Windows that said selecting a different language preference for the keyboard, then putting it back to English freed it up. It was the same problem. Keyboard not responding after sleep. It might be worth a try.
