Access violation at address 74ED1FB8 in module "hid".dll", read of address FFFFFFF0

When my computer starts up and after I log into my Windows account - I get this error.
If I press ESC the error box vanishes and the computer appears to work fine - but I am afraid it will
develop serious problems if this keeps happening.
Anyone have any insights?
