Question about Vista Clean install

I am having issues with a computer I built from two similar machines. I tried doing an "upgrade" from Windows XP to Vista but the problems continued. I would like to try a clean install or a custom install of Vista to see if that would fix the problem.

If it doesn't work, can I use the Windows XP Recovery discs I have to return the computer to XP after doing a clean or custom install of Vista? I just want to fix the problems I am having before I upgrade to Vista permanently.

Yes, you should be able to recovery XP using your XP Recovery disc if you should decide to later. Just be sure to back up anything that you do not want to lose to be safe though.

Usually it's always best to do a clean install of an OS (ex: Vista) to get the best results. I would recommend to check to make sure that you have Vista drivers available for all of your hardware/devices, and go ahead and download them to have them saved somewhere to make it easy to install them after installing Vista.
