Corrupt registry repair and I lose all my files?

I recently downloaded a repair/ recovery cd for Windows 8, 7 and windows Vista

On the repair disk: Corrupt registry repair.

Then, before I used it, I read that if I had an OEM copy of Windows, I might or might not, lose all my files. ALL MY FILES?

How can this be?
