Hello Co-vista's!
The past few days I am trying to customize vista to look just the way I want it to. At first I tried to install some themes from deaviantart. The thing is that I can't find a theme that suit my taste best. What I did was to use either explorer.dll or browseui.dll from the theme that I liked.
The next step, was to chose a theme that I liked, but in some themes there are small details that I don't like.
For example, some themes don't have a search bar at the start menu. And here comes my first question. How to add a search bar in start menu on a specific theme?
In other themes I don't like the start orb(the icon that pops start menu). I tried to use software that changes that, like StartOrbz(when I open in, it never starts), Windows 7 Start Button Changer(although it runs with no errors, no icon is changed), ViOrb(although it runs with no errors, no icon is changed), so here is the second question: How to change start menu icon?
Trying to find an answer to this last question, I came accross http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/245017-startup-orb-change.html
It wasn't what I was looking for, but that prompted me to change the startup orb. Although this method seems simple enough, it requires to have 4 images which create a smooth animation. It is really difficult to find images like that, so I tried to find another way. While searching I found a relevant software called Win7BootUpdater.
I used this software, but while the preview works fine, when I try to apply the changes I get an error message
So here comes the third question:How to change the start up animation?
With such questions, it could be better to create my own theme, but I don't know how!

There was a problem updating the files.
Failed to update the message table text in winload.exe
