What are the risk of installing unsigned printer driver?

Unsigned means not approved and not tested
Maybe will not work
May have malware
Can make the system unstable
These are the major problems and I think they are enough.

You mean it cause computer only software problem or also the hardware problem?

It would be software only. I do not know of any printer drivers that can cause hardware problems.
Bad drivers can make the system freeze etc. You would only have to uninstall them to go back to square one.

I just installed Vista U 64 on a Inspiron 1525 laptop and I had to use a few unsigned drivers with no problems yet. A little difficulty getting the wifi to work. The wifi would drop the IP address every few minutes, changing a few settings in the router seems to have solved the issue. It sure runs better now compared to the 32 bit Home Basic it came with.
