Vista busniess 64 bit not booting correctly

When I start up ny comp. I have to hit f9 then it shows two items, vista and vista business. I have to go to vista business and hit start normally for my comp to start. It just started doing this yesterday. Please Help I tried windows restore but all restore points were missing. Ran windows vista business repair and it shows vista business 64 bit repaired, but still the same thing in startup.

Run msconfig.exe. In the Boot tab, there may be the two versions listed. Set the Vista Business as the default. I don't know why Vista would be listed there but you can either leave it alone or remove it (at your own risk).

I will try this tomorrow Thank You. I don't know why it was showing the two versions.

Hello MacbethRed01,

In addition to what Wither 3 has said, I would also recommend try the following steps:

  1. Click the Start icon in the bottom corner of the screen. Right-click the "Computer" or "My Computer" menu item, and then click "Properties."
  2. Click the "Advanced System Settings" link on the left side of the window.
  3. Click the "Advanced" tab, and then click the "Settings" button under "Startup and Recovery."
  4. Click the drop-down menu under "Default Operating System," and select Vista Business.
  5. Remove the check from the box next to "Time to display list of operating systems." Alternatively, change the number of seconds to "0."
  6. Click "OK" twice and restart the computer. When the computer reboots, the selected version of Windows loads automatically without displaying the Windows Boot Manager screen.
