OS licensing issues

OS licensing question

Hey guys, quick question.

I have a legit copy of win 7 installed on my macbook right now and im thinking of deleting it off my mac and doing a fresh install on my PC. Will there be any licensing issues? Do i have to manually revoke the license key from the mac installation before I can install it on the PC?

After this is all said and done, only 1 copy of the windows 7 will be installed and active.

If you bought the computer with Seven installed and you have the DVD that came with the computer, there will be no problems on the same computer. You cannot change computers.
If you bought the full install DVD no problem if on only one computer
If it is an upgrade version, you should use it on the same computer and no other computer. You must have a legit product key number. You may be able to install on another computer, after a call to Microsoft.
If it is an OEM version (letters OEM in product key number) will be a problem on a different computer, and you will hae no where to go for help if problems develop.

You correctly blocked the key number from showing. Just tell me how did you get the copy of Seven, came with the computer or your bought a CD (upgrade of full retail)?

i bought it at a canadacomputers. i think its OEM because i remember buying a stick of ram with it.

If it is, indeed, oem, you got it for a cheap price and you cannot tranfer to another computer.

BTW, it is against the EULA, to purchase OEM unless you resell the computer with the OS.

If OEM, it will appear in the product key number.

I agree that it looks like an OEM copy and M$ won't activate an OEM copy that has been put on another machine even if it is removed from the first; this is because they charge less for it. Only retail copies can be transferred to another computer.
