sfc/scan run 3 times still corrupt files?

hi i have run the sfc scan 3 times each time it says it has fixed files? yet when i run again it says it has corrupt files?

see enclosed sfc scan results txt file ?

is something beyond repair or is there just lots of corrupt files and sfc can only do so many at a time so has to be re-run until there all done?

The System File Checker (SFC) can only repair files that are in the mirror. And those are only the most important files. For a better resule you have to run a startup/repair with your installation/repair disc. That has a bigger inventory of files.

But even then there may be files that cannot be repaired - e.g. ,dlls that came with program installations that were not on the original installation disc but which were installed from the web.

in that case woud i be better off restoring one of the macrium images we made? wich were made before all this started happening?

when say installation/repair disc do you mean re_install windows from scratch using my windows install usb?

Not 'reinstall' - just 'repair' with your repair stick. I would not pull the image in. First try to repair it.

oh ok how do i do that i only have a vista install usb not a repair disc? have not got a disc drive (hense install usb)

have never done a repair install ?
q.will i lose all currently installed programs / settings with repair install
