Solved system restore failed due to an unexpected error?

i tried to perform system restore but got this message : system restore failed due to an unexpected error?

so tried an older restore pont and got the same message im trying to get rid of some software srs labs that did not install propperly but it wont let me delete so tried sys restore to go back to a point before it but no joy? any ideas?

Open your start menu, in the search box put SystemPropertiesProtection.exe and click on it. What does it say for the enabled status of your hard drives?

however as this issue was some 8-9hrs ago i proceeded to re-install my os from scratch. am just finishing off the last few updates now

Hi Billtybellfoot, just to add, If you have norton security or security system which has tamper protection you have to go into setting's and untick that box that say's tamper protection.

ahh thanks i do have norton internet security. always have but never new this amazing that is a golden piece of advice many many thanks
