Need help upgrading from Vista Home Premium to Microsoft 8

Please help....:cry:
I have a Dell Inspiron 1721 x86 based computer with processor-AMD (tm) 64 x 2 mobile tech TL-56 running Microsoft Vista 6.0.6002, service pack 2 (32 bit) and I want to upgrade to Microsoft 8.

I compared the Microsoft 8 requirements and I believe my computer meets all the requirements.


I ran the upgrade assistant and the ATI AHCI Compatible RAID Controller is NOT compatible.
  1. Since it is not compatible, does that mean I cannot upgrade to Microsoft 8?
  2. What options do I have to remedy?
