automatically closes anything i try to access

Hi,

i have problems with my laptop nec versa p7300, operating system in win vista

i can log onto windows no problem but when i click on anything eg start button...my computer....any documents on the desktop if im lucky my laptop will open it then next second windows automatically close it, sometimes it would not open at all, no error message occurs

even when i put a cd in if i can get a chance to open it a second later it automatically closes, i have done a clean install and reformatted but the same problem occurs, also windows help boxes automatically opens constantly and i cant close that at all

during formatting clean install stage sometimes the laptop restarted automatically over and over again i did disable auto restart on failure but it still restarted.

i can open safe mode but all the same problems occur in safe mode.

are there any suggestions i have tested my ram there is no problem with the ram.....is the problem my graphics card or any other hardware

if anyone can help would appreciate it

Welcome
Certainly sounds like a hardware issue. When you did a clean install, you did include a format?
If yes, its certainly hardware.
Turn off the computer, turn on your speaker, now boot. Do you hear any beeps.
If yes, how many and what type, long, short etc.
If no, try to find your computer manual, it will tell you how to perform diagnostic tests, read and try that method.

i did not understand what you meant by turn off the laptop and turn on the speakers?

i am using a laptop can you please give more detail....i am looking into finding out how to do the diagnostic test

Let me rephase. Boot the computer and be sure that you can hear any beeps that come from the speakers.
