Files are corrupted after chkdsk, vista loading screen freezes.

The loading icon on the "Welcome" screen freezes, and after a few seconds, or sometime minutes, it goes back normal. One more thing is that, after running check disk, or also known as chkdsk, my files all go corrupted. My game files are corrupted and i cant open my gaming program. I was forced to reinstall it. One day after, the vista loading screen ( the bar loading screen) freezes. I restarted and it went back OK.
So i want to ask do these symptoms bring the same meaning or are these just minor problems? I feel very uncomfortable with these problems.
