Error: no such partition. Grub rescue Help please!

Hey,

So i have windows vista and ubuntu on my laptop, I wanted to format the whole drive, and restore to factory settings.
I started formatting, and I went to eat something.
When i come back i see:

error: no such partition.
grub rescue>

I download from the Internet Vista_Recovery_Disc.iso
I recorded and tried booting but nothing:(
I try also booting from live cd ubuntu but also nothing...

does anyone know what happened and how to fix it??

Hi Jessi James,

We can do few steps to check if the DVD drive is working fine:

1. Go to system set-up and check if DVD drive is the first boot device.
2. If it is not, change DVD drive to first boot device and Hard drive as second boot device.
3. Save changes and exit.
4. Then insert the vista DVD in the computer and restart the computer.
