Solved general search in vista

how do I do a general search in windows vista? I want to do a mass upload to dropbox of nothing but recent files, and they're all different types.

edit:

from the 20th of last month all the way up to today, doing this as my system is now so unstable I dont trust it to not balk on a dump to my external hdd.

You could press the Windows + F keys to open a search window, click on the Advanced Search arrow to expand it open, set it just like in the screenshot below to search the whole computer for that date range, and click on the Search button to do so.
