Hello,
last days my VISTA installation was my Tamagotchi.
I tested the power plan because my PC declined to sleep if unused after minutes.
Now it does the job.
The entries in my power plan 'Power saver':
Require a password for wake up: Yes
Turn off hard disk after: never
Wireless Adapter Settings: doesn't matter, I don't have this
Sleep after: Never
Allow hybrid sleep: On
Hibernate after: 21 minutes
USB selective suspend setting: Enabled
Power button action: Hibernate
Sleep button action: Hibernate
Start menu power button: Hibernate
PCI Express - Link State Power Management: Maximum power savings
Processor power management - Minimum processor state: 5%
Processor power management - Maximum processor state: 20%
Search and Indexing - Power Savings Mode: High Performance
Display - Turn off display after: 15 Minutes
Display - Adaptive display: On
Windows DreamScene settings: Power Safer
Multimedia settings - When sharing media: Allow the computer to sleep
It is oddly that
in the item 'Put the computer to sleep' Never is shown (in the screen 'Change settings for the power plan'),
but the computer hibernates.
The last imperative was to set
Multimedia settings - When sharing media: Allow the computer to sleep
even though I have no network connections expect the Internet.
It was also interesting for me, that the command
POWERCFG -a
shows:
The following sleep states are available on this system: Standby ( S3 ) Hibernate Hybrid Sleep
The following sleep states are not available on this system:
Standby (S1)
The system firmware does not support this standby state.
Standby (S2)
The system firmware does not support this standby state.
Hope this is helpful for somebody
