Recently started using Vista Business 32 bit. Everything set up with exception of getting Skype to install and Windows updates to run. I read probably everything written on the subject of windows updates from Microsoft as well as other forum groups. Nothing seems to fix the problem. I have used all of the fix it programs from microsoft that would run. I have altered registry, deleted folders, download update agents nothing seems to work. Skype will not install. Have tried to download full version and installer version. Gets to same location and comes up with having trouble connecting to download server. Never installs. Have totally unistalled all virus detection software, disabled firewall in services, window defender disabled. Funny thing, TeamViewer works. Have tried registry cleaners, even went as far as buying one, something I swore I would never do since CCcleaner is free. Didn't think about it, but also had trouble downloading Adobe reader. I run several other programs which check seat license with each launch and they work. So, what is stopping the updates and skype from making contact with servers? Is there a secret handshake I wasn't told about before using Vista. Never had these problems with XP. Help, help, help.
Thanks
