Hello, OK Here is my story :
Few days ago I got blue screen when turning computer on after that I only had blinking cursor. By using this forum I was able to backup my data using Ubutu live CD by following this thread - http://www.vistax64.com/crashes-debugging/294168-vista-black-screen-blinking-cursor.html
OK...so I copied all my files to externadrive and they are safe..then I wanted to restore my Vista.
Among other files I backed up on exteral dive through Ubuntu, I also backed up whole recovery partition (no, F11 is not working (F12 and F8 either) while booting up I tried that 100 times taping holding everything. And no, unfortnately I didnt create recovery disc
) anyhow I put that recovery partition on a separate Pen Drive as I was thnking since F11 is not working maybe I can force it to boot computer to that Pen Drive with partition I copied. Unfortunately it gives me message: PEN DRIVE WITHOUT OPERATING SYSTEM.REMOVE PENDIVE AND REBOOT. DISC BOOT FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISC AND PRESSENTER..so I started research again and discovered that pen drive needs to be "bootable" in order to boot to it..problem is computer needs to be working and mine isnt...so here is the question (If I understand everything correctly):
I have a laptop with XP and I have Recovery Partition from my Vista computer on external drive. Is it possible to create bootable Pen Drive on XP laptop using recovery partition from my Vista computeron external drive?
I am also open to any other sugestions.
Thank you vey much
PS. My computer is HP desktop PAvilion. Unfortunately I dont see any model or so. It is Vista Home Premium 64
