Hi,
The default keyboard shortcuts on my laptop don't work, and I want to know how to actvate them. I discovered the problem when I learned I could use alt+5051 to type an em dash rather than the en dash that is shorter in appearance, and though that seems trivial the point is that the shortcut didn't work. The problem is apparent when I use notepad, word pad, and when typing in an online forum in Firefox browser. I can see how to turn on sticky keys, toggle keys and filter keys, but all I need to know is how to make functional both the shortcut for an em dash and the default keyboard shortcuts that were originally useable when I got my laptop. I'm a fairly experienced computer user.
I can't say for sure when the problem began. I looked online for a solution, but had no luck. Any help is very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Dinah K
