Disable mouse options?

Hi-

I'm a tech teacher with intermediate skills. In the lab that I'm now working in, the kids are altering the mouse pointer (a flying horse or dinosaur) and enabling mouse trails. Is there a way to disable the right click > personalize > mouse options or somehow remove just the mouse options selection entirely? I don't want to disable right click completely as I do have them create new folders, etc.

Hello Mark, and welcome to Vista Forums.

If you like, you could use the tutorial below to hide Mouse so the Mouse icon is no longer available in the Control Panel to be opened.

Hi Shawn-

The control panel is not accessible under their login. They're doing it on the desktop (right click > personalize > mouse options)

In that case, you could also turn on the Guest account and/or change their user account type to be Guest accounts instead. This way, any changes they make are not saved and are undone as soon as they log off. They will need to save anything they do not want to lose to say a USB flash drive before logging off to not lose it though.
