I went through a very trying time to find the solution for this error: "Can't find script engine VBScript for script." It didn't have to do with registering the dlls, but rather that Avast had taken possession of/overwritten the registry key involved and through piecing various threads together I finally managed to find a resolution.
Thing is, I had to take ownership of the registry key. I literally stumbled around and finally managed to get it done, though at this point I'm not sure I could even tell you how.
Is it important for me now to put this key back under the ownership of TrustedInstaller? I'm asking because I Googled doing this and found instructions, but was even more confused than I was when I had to take ownership.
I'd sure appreciate help/clarification with this.
Thank you in advance.
