.exe- Bad Image wbem\wbemprox.dd

Every time I try to open an exe file I get the message (where xxx is the file name)

xxx.exe - Bad Image
c:\Windows\system32\wbem\wbemprox.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

I have reinstalled programs to try fix the issue, however this has either not helped or just made it worse. Samsung kies for instance now will not reinstall.

Please help.

Hello Jay, and welcome. Your specs indicate just Vista Home Prem. 32 bit.. is that also updated to SP2 yet or did you just did not post full spec's ?
If you have indeed updated and it is on SP2. please run a program for virus. and also for malware. Most users have an anti virus but do not use a good malware scanner.. I would suggest free program of Malwarebytes Antimalware.
